I found my space in this world so I could design yours.
It's easy to find yourself on a path in life, doing what's expected of you. In fact, sometimes it feels like the only option.
For fifteen years, that was me. On paper, everything looked in place. I had a great job, I was genuinely good at my work. I understood space, proportion, the way a room could make someone feel something before they could explain why. But the way I was working didn't fully align with who I was. I found myself adapting, masking, fitting into expectations rather than fully being… me. I was performing a version of myself that looked right from the outside and felt hollow from the inside.
Then I suffered the loss of both of my parents in the span of 3 years, and it changed my life forever.
Grief has a way of cutting through everything that doesn't matter. In the aftermath, my relationship to time, energy, identity, and what truly matters shifted completely. There was a clarity that came with that experience. A certain realization that I didn't want to spend my life fitting into a shape that didn't feel like me. That life is too precious to spend a moment being anyone other than who you truly are.
Starting LANG Design Interiors was not just a professional decision. It was part of a personal transformation.
I made a conscious choice to live differently, to show up fully as myself, and to build something that was true to my taste, my standards, and my way of working. That transformation extended beyond my business and into my life, creating an alignment between how I live and what I create. LANG is named for my great grandmother, a quiet piece of family history that felt like the right foundation for something built entirely on my own terms.
What I didn't expect was how much that experience would shape the work itself.
While many people think interior design is just about aesthetics, what I do goes so much deeper than that. I create spaces that allow people to feel at home in their lives — spaces where they can relax, gather, think, and fully be themselves. Spaces where they can manifest the life they're building. Because a home isn't just where you live. It's where you become.
The spaces I design are more than just beautiful. They are functional, livable, and deeply personal. They reflect the people inside them and support the lives they want to build.
My work is an extension of my own story. I built a life and a business where I could be fully myself.
Now I create spaces that allow my clients to do the same.

Paige Leackfeldt
Founder, Lead Designer
Meet Paige Leackfeldt, owner of LANG Design Interiors. Her design career began over a decade ago, moving through commercial offices, healthcare, and higher education before she found her focus in high-end residential work. That range sharpened her eye for furniture procurement and concept development, and made her a genuine maestro of the design-build process.
Her core work is large-scale new construction and multi-level renovations, seeing a project through from first concept to final installation. Alongside her design background, Paige brings a sharp understanding of what each project demands, from design down to construction.
When she's not taking the design world by storm, you'll find Paige planning her next trip, trying new restaurants around Rochester, hunting for clothes and home decor, or at home in her favorite sweatpants with her dog and trusty sidekick, Ernie.
Taylor Manz
Design Assistant
Born and raised in Fairport, Taylor has always paid attention to how a well-designed space changes the way people feel in it. Travel sharpened that instinct further, city by city, giving her an eye for how architecture and hospitality design shape an experience.
She earned her BFA in Interior Architecture in Ohio, interning along the way with Kelly Wearstler. From there, she moved into full-service luxury residential design in Chicago, working on high-end homes that refined her eye for detail and craftsmanship. Alongside her design background, Taylor brings real experience in customer service, management, and leadership, giving her a thoughtful, client-centered approach.
When she's not designing, you'll likely find Taylor planning her next trip, scavenging for new coffee shops, spending time with friends and family, or relaxing at home with her dog, Rio.
